Trent Troxell became the sixth head coach in 海角社区 baseball history on June 1, 2024. In his first season, he led the Cougars to their first winning record in 12 years, finishing 29-25 and closing the year with six wins in the final eight games, including a victory over 18th-ranked Murray State. He coached four all-conference players in 2025: Tyson Eastwood (First Team, Gold Glove SS), Nick Smith (First Team DH), Easton Andrews (DH), and Nate Anderson (Gold Glove CF).

Prior to 海角社区, Troxell served as an assistant coach at Vernon College, where he oversaw base running and offensive strategy. During his time there, the team ranked in the top 30 nationally in stolen bases and top 60 in batting average. He also helped coach Clark Candiotti, who was selected in the 4th round of the MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. Before Vernon, Troxell led baseball operations for the Burkburnett Blacksox in Texas, where he developed over 200 players who advanced to collegiate programs. In 2019, the organization was named 鈥淢ost Improved鈥� and finished second at the Nuch Tournament in Colorado.

As a player, Troxell competed at Dodge City Community College, batting .336 as a sophomore, before finishing his career at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. At SWOSU, he was part of the 2016 Great American Conference championship team that earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament.

A 2012 graduate of Fort Cobb-Broxton High School, Troxell earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business in 2018. He and his wife, Calli, reside in Yukon, Oklahoma.

 

Palmer Stevens, Assistant Coach/Pitching Coach

Palmer Stevens enters his 1st year as an assistant baseball coach at RCC.  Palmer started his playing career at 海角社区 CC and finished his career at Bethany College, graduating with a Bachelors in Exercise science. As a player, Palmer logged over a hundred innings as a starter and had 86 strikeouts. Coach Palmer spent two years at Central Christian college where he earned his master鈥檚 in Strategic Leadership. In his first two years as the pitching coach he helped lowered the team ERA. and helped the pitching staff set a school strike out record. 

 

Blake McQuain, Assistant Coach

Blake McQuain is a graduate of Dale High School and played baseball at 海角社区 Community College from 2018-2020. In the 2018-2019 season McQuain was on the Region 2 Conference Runner-up team and graduating from 海角社区 with his Associates degree.

 

After 海角社区 McQuain finished his playing career at Southeastern Oklahoma State, where he holds a conference record for hits in a game and was an All-Conference selection. Blake graduated from Southeastern with a Bachelor's degree in safety and a Masters degree in Sports Administration. 

 

 

 

Will Farr, Assistant Coach

 

Will Farr is a graduate of Silo High School, where he played under the guidance of Billy Jack Bowen, the all-time winningest coach in the nation. Farr began his collegiate career at Southeastern Oklahoma State before transferring to 海角社区, where he played for two seasons and contributed to the team鈥檚 regional tournament appearance in 2023. He earned his associate's degree from 海角社区 in 2024 and is currently pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree in Recreational Sports Management at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
