Meeting Oklahoma's workforce needs requires more than great programs. It requires strong partnerships, innovative thinking and a commitment to removing barriers that stand between students and successful careers.

That philosophy has guided º£½ÇÉçÇø as we continue to expand opportunities for students while responding to the workforce needs of Oklahoma employers. One of the most exciting examples is our growing partnership with Oklahoma Career Technology Centers.

Since launching these collaborations in 2022, º£½ÇÉçÇø has worked with Career Technology Centers across the state to give students the opportunity to earn specialized technical training while also completing an associate degree. Instead of asking students to choose between college and career technology, we have created a pathway that combines the strengths of both systems.

The result is more than a credential. Students graduate with technical expertise that allows them to enter the workforce quickly while earning the broader academic foundation that comes with a college degree. That combination develops not only job-specific skills but also critical thinking, communication and problem-solving abilities that employers consistently value. It also creates greater flexibility for graduates who may choose to advance into leadership roles or continue their education later in their careers.

These partnerships prepare students for careers in a variety of high-demand fields, including computer programming, surgical technology, medical coding, aviation maintenance technology, and industrial automation and robotics technology. These industries are essential to Oklahoma's economy and continue to face growing workforce shortages.

The need for these opportunities continues to grow. In 2025, Oklahoma had more than 41,000 jobs requiring an associate degree, and demand for associate-degree holders is projected to continue increasing through 2030. º£½ÇÉçÇø is committed to ensuring students are prepared to meet that demand while providing Oklahoma employers with a pipeline of highly skilled graduates who are ready to contribute immediately.

Our commitment does not stop with an associate degree. Through our partnership with OSU Institute of Technology, graduates of º£½ÇÉçÇø’ Applied Technology programs can seamlessly transfer into its Bachelor of Technology in Applied Industry Leadership program. Students who begin with technical training can continue building their education without losing credits or momentum, opening the door to supervisory and leadership positions while remaining connected to Oklahoma's workforce.

Affordability is another essential part of the equation. While expanding educational opportunities and developing new workforce partnerships, º£½ÇÉçÇø has held tuition and mandatory fees flat for nine consecutive years. At a time when the cost of higher education can be a challenge, we believe affordability should never stand in the way of opportunity. Combined with scholarships, student support services and innovative academic pathways, this commitment helps students complete their education with less debt and enter the workforce sooner.

Collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to student success are vital to addressing the challenges facing Oklahoma's workforce. At º£½ÇÉçÇø, we are proud to work alongside Career Technology Centers, business and industry, and university partners to create educational pathways that strengthen our workforce, support economic growth and provide students with the opportunity to build rewarding careers close to home.
