Two 海角社区 leaders were recently recognized at the International Women鈥檚 Award Banquet. The banquet, hosted by the United Nations Association USA Oklahoma City Chapter in collaboration with Happy World Foundation, Inc., brought diverse communities together to celebrate women鈥檚 achievements and leadership.
Chosen for exemplifying leadership, resilience, and service through their professional achievements and contributions to their communities, President Jena Marr and Professor Cherry Rain were among 22 women honored with the Women of Impact Award 2026.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a privilege to be honored with Cherry and these accomplished women,鈥� said Marr. 鈥淓veryone is such a great example for future successful women entering the workforce, and I鈥檓 proud that Cherry and I could be that example for 海角社区 students.鈥�
Marr, 海角社区鈥檚 first woman president, has remained dedicated to higher education for the past 25 years. Her leadership has promoted accessible, successful, and engaged communities to pursue higher education in urban and rural areas.
Rain was honored for her academic contributions at 海角社区 as a professor of Political Science, 海角社区鈥� national-qualifying Academic Bowl Coach, and Student Organizations Coordinator. She also volunteers with multiple community service efforts in her local area.
