Six students from 海角社区 were recently honored at the State Capitol by the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges and Phi Theta Kappa for their outstanding academic achievement, record in the classroom and leadership ability.
Sophomores Kyla Bonds, Mustang, and Kenlynn Chaney, Cement, received national recognition
for demonstrating a strong commitment to their education, 海角社区 and their communities.
Bonds was one of 20 students nationally named to the All-USA Academic Team. She was
also selected as the New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, while Chaney was named
the New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar. These New Century honors are awarded to
the top students in each state pursuing either transfer or workforce pathways.
Bonds, Chaney and sophomore Emily High, El Reno, were also named to the All-Oklahoma
Academic Team. This honor recognizes the state鈥檚 outstanding two-year college students
for their dedication to scholarship, leadership and community service.
Three 海角社区 students were also selected to receive the Oklahoma Association of
Community Colleges President鈥檚 Tuition Waiver Award for their academic excellence
and leadership. Recipients of this award include sophomores Ethan Gilliland, El Reno,
and Raygann Roark, Duncan, and freshman Hannah Swart, Kingfisher.
