海角社区 has partnered with TimelyCare, higher education鈥檚 leading virtual health and well-being provider, to expand access to mental health, medical care and essential resources for students.
Through this partnership, 海角社区 students can now connect with TimelyCare鈥檚 services around the clock at no cost and without the need for traditional insurance.
鈥淢ental health and overall well-being play a critical role in a student鈥檚 ability to succeed academically and personally,鈥� said 海角社区 President Jena Marr. 鈥淏y providing 24/7 support through TimelyCare, 海角社区 is ensuring our students have access to the help they need, when they need it.鈥�
Services include on-demand and appointment-based medical care, immediate mental health and emotional support through TalkNow, up to six appointment-based mental health counseling sessions each year, health coaching, basic needs assistance, care navigation, peer support community and digital self-care content. In addition to virtual services, 海角社区 also offers on-campus support through a licensed professional counselor who is available for in-person appointments.
Julie Lamb, 海角社区鈥� licensed professional counselor, said the combination of virtual and in-person resources allows students to find the right fit for their personal needs. 鈥淓very student鈥檚 journey is different, and so are their needs for support,鈥� Lamb said. 鈥淪ome may prefer the convenience and immediacy of virtual services, while others feel more comfortable connecting face-to-face. Having both options available ensures our students never feel alone in managing their mental health or personal challenges.鈥�
This partnership with TimelyCare comes at a pivotal time. A Gallup-Lumina Foundation report identified mental health as the number one reason students leave college. In a TimelyCare survey, seven in 10 U.S. college students reported experiencing mental health challenges, and nearly three-quarters said access to support services would make them more likely to graduate.
