Nursing Program
Advance your health care career with 海角社区鈥檚 Nursing Program! Whether you're aiming to become an RN through the traditional track, through the LPN to RN program, or to transfer on to become a BSN, we offer the training you need to excel in the health care industry.

The online nursing application is available for generic admission between January 1 to March 1. Generic student applications are received and reviewed for Summer admissions only. The LPN-RN application is available between August 1 to December 1. LPN-RN student applications are received and reviewed for Spring admissions only. Transfer and Readmission student application between March 1 and May 1. Transfer and/or Readmission student applications are reviewed for Fall admission to determine correct placement.
All other required materials such as the official transcripts, and ATI TEAS scores should be emailed to the Nursing Program or placed in the mailbox outside of the Nursing and Allied Health office to ensure obtainment of your documents accurately. If you would like to drop of materials in person, we ask that you contact the Nursing Program or via email or phone 405.422.6224 prior to your arrival and schedule a day or time.
This is notification that students have the option to submit application materials and admission in the program is subject to change based on board approval.
Review the Nursing Admission Requirements for admission policies on Generic Applications, Transfer Applications and LPN-RN Applications. 海角社区 Nursing Program admits one group or cohort per year. Generic applications are due by March 1 each year. LPN-RN applications are due by December 1 each year. Transfer and Readmission applications are due by May 1. Only the Nursing Admission Application is automatically submitted.
Nursing Program Application Period and Deadlines:

The application process includes an interview which will be scheduled once your application has been received. Submitting your application 2-3 weeks early is recommended to allow time for the interview process.
Applications received outside of the date ranges will not be reviewed until the designated time frames.

The 海角社区 nursing program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. Graduates of this state-approved program are eligible to apply to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses. Applicants for Oklahoma licensure must meet all state and federal requirements to hold an Oklahoma license to practice nursing. In addition to completing a state-approved nursing education program that meets educational requirements and successfully passing the licensure examination, requirements include submission of an application for licensure, a criminal history records search, and evidence of citizenship or qualified alien status [59 O.S. 搂搂567.5 & 567.6]. To be granted a license, an applicant must have the legal right to be in the United States (United States Code Chapter 8, Section 1621). In addition, Oklahoma law only allows a license to be issued to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and legal permanent resident aliens. Other qualified aliens may be issued a temporary license that is valid until the expiration of their visa status, or if there is no expiration date, for one year. Applicants who are qualified aliens must present to the Board office, in person, valid documentary evidence of:
- A valid, unexpired immigrant or nonimmigrant visa status for admission into the United States;
- A pending or approved application for asylum in the United States;
- Admission into the United States in refugee status;
- A pending or approved application for temporary protected status in the United States;
- Approved deferred action status; or
- A pending application for adjustment of status to legal permanent resident status or conditional resident status.
The Board has the authority to deny a license, recognition or certificate; issue a license, recognition or certificate with conditions and/or an administrative penalty; or to issue and otherwise discipline a license, recognition or certificate to an individual with a history of criminal background, disciplinary action on any professional or occupational license or certification, or judicial declaration of mental incompetence [59 O.S. 搂567.8]. These cases are considered on an individual basis at the time application for licensure is made. Potential applicants to state-approved education programs, with a criminal history, may obtain a determination of eligibility for licensure or certification from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing for a fee. Nursing Program Outcomes
海角社区 Nursing Program will:
- Maintain 3-year mean of 80% or greater pass rate for all first time takers and repeaters.
- Maintain a 3-year mean of 70% for NURS 1114 generic students who remain after the official drop date will graduate in 5 semesters.
- Maintain a 3-year mean of 70% for NURS 1128 LPN to RN track students who remain after the official drop date will graduate within 3 semesters.
- 85% of graduates who sought a position as RN are employed as an RN or are enrolled in courses to obtain a BSN or higher degree within 1 year of graduation.

Lauren Newell, MSN, RN, PCCN, TNCC, Professor of Nursing / Assistant Director of Nursing 405.422.6264 Office: OE-113 Lauren.r.newell@redlandscc.edu Lauren Newell has worked as both a critical care and emergency nurse over the past five years. She received her BSN through OUHSC in 2018. She is nationally certified as a Progressive Care Certified Nurse as well as TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Certified. Lauren is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Lauren is currently enrolled and completing coursework in a Family Nurse Practitioner Program through Texas Woman鈥檚 University. She loves spending time at home farming and doing family activities. |

Danaee Wiglesworth, ADN, RN, Data Analyst Danaee received her Associate of Science in Nursing in 2017, her medical background
consists of over 10 years of allied health in different fields of healthcare. Upon
relocating to Oklahoma she worked as a charge on a Pediatric and Woman services unit.
In the past recent years she spent traveling to hospitals in OKC areas aiding in COVID-19
units and working with public health clinics throughout Oklahoma City鈥檚 Health Departments,
running testing and vaccines centers. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science
in Nursing Informatics. As someone who started her career with certificates at a community
college and currently still pursuing her career goals, she is passionate about education
promotion, and student success. |

Dorothea Holyan, M.Ed. Dorothea Holyan received her Masters of Education in 2022 and her Bachelors of Science
in 2020, both from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She is a full-blood Native
American, has grown up in rural Oklahoma, and has worked within the tribal communities
for over 20 years. She worked in tribal healthcare at the Clinton Indian Hospital
for 2 years. She is passionate about Native American representation within the health
care workforce and is committed to the success of the NASNTI grant within the Nursing
Programs at both 海角社区 and Western Oklahoma State College. |

Haley Seibold A home-grown success story, Haley Siebold received an Associate of Science in Nursing
in 2018 from 海角社区. After graduation, Haley applied her training
through work experience in the local healthcare field. This included positions at
the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and SSM Healthplex in El Reno, along with
experience working under a Physician Assistant. A mother and wife, Haley enjoys spending
time with family and pets. She is passionate about the 海角社区 Nursing Program and
the opportunities that it gives the next generation of healthcare professionals. |
